Brooklyn, NY native, Irs was the offspring of a Guyanese, South Asian Indian, Native Colombian mother and a Native Colombian father. The youngest of three, he and his two brothers lived fatherless. In the early 90′s, Irs moved to New Jerusalem, where he still resides. As a child, his family had introduced him to music, which allowed Irs to experience the art of many eras and styles. Music became his drug growing up. Slowly, his drug became a tool to voice himself and surrounding issues that concerned all.

Developing this weapon, Irs leached on to writing rhymes/poems, DJ’ing and producing, having produced for artists such as Ancestral Poetisa, Sister Jade, Infinite Life, Adam “ShadoKat” Bowser, M.Josephine, Danielle Martin, Ian Khadan, MC Enigma, Poet (Delinquent Soundz Entertainment), Props (I.C.E.), Big Mike (Def Jam Poet), Gemineye (Def Jam Poet), FlowMentalz (Def Jam Poet) and many others. DJ’ing on the open mic scene, Irs quickly became the house DJ for the popular showcases Hip Hop Meets Poetry, Cypha Saturdays, Culture Shock, as well as The New Jersey Youth S.L.A.M. Team, Slam Global Enterprises and many more.  From 2007 – 2009, Irs had started his own show called TheLineUp and is currently doing The Village Gate, which fuses the visual arts/spoken word and music, in hopes to bring people togethere so they can help preserve and share these diverse art forms, which are ratically being taking away from our children schools.

Irs also grew to be well known in the hip hop underground scene but also became known as “The Poets DJ.” These opportunities allowed Irs to develop a friendship with some of the most talked about indie artists.  His debut album as a producer, For Those Listening is an attempt to blend artistic worlds that have molded Irs into who he is today.  In 2011 Irs released Raw Talent, with HBO Def Poet Gemineye, which was nominated The Best Spoken Word Album Of The Year for 2011 by The NPA (National Poetry Awards) & Urbnites In Flight with singer/song writer, Orikl.

In 2012, Irs is attemping to release 6 albums within the course of the year.
